butter baked chicken

ingredients

  • 1/4 c. butter
  • 4 to 8 chicken breasts
  • 1 (12 oz) can evaporated milk, divided use
  • 1 c. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/8 tsp. pepper
  • 1 (10 3/4 oz.) can condensed cream of chicken soup, undiluted
  • 1/4 c. water

prep

  1. preheat oven to 425°
  2. melt butter in 9x13 baking dish

cook

  1. dip chicken in milk, then roll in seasoned flour
  2. place chicken, skin side down, in butter
  3. bake 30 minutes
  4. mix water, remaining milk, and soup together
  5. turn chicken over and pour soup mixture over it
  6. bake additional 30 minutes
  7. remove chicken and stir gravy
